The Grief No One Talks About When You Start Healing

The Grief No One Talks About When You Start Healing

I have a favorite bench where I like to sit. Sunlight comes through the leaves, the wind brushes my skin, and for a little while, I can simply be still.

  • Lately, in those quiet moments, I’ve been feeling grief.

It’s not just grief for those who have passed away, but also for people who are still here and can’t meet me where I am.

We know how to talk about losing someone to death, but we rarely talk about the sadness that comes when someone is still alive but can’t grow with us, care for us, or meet us deeply.

  • Healing has shown me where I end and someone else begins. With that, I’ve found freedom, the freedom to stop carrying what isn’t mine, to let go of hope that kept me stuck, and to care for myself more lovingly and honestly.

For me, moving forward has meant therapy, dancing, music, feeling sunlight on my skin, and figuring out what I need now.

If growing has brought grief into your life, remember that your growth isn’t this terrible thing and you dont have to feel wrong or bad for it.

  •  You are allowed to heal. You are allowed to want peace. You’re allowed to move forward with love.

Here's a question to ponder on:

What am I still holding onto that might be keeping me from the peace I say I want?

If this resonated with you, share something from this post with someone close to you. If you want, I’d love to read it in the comments.

If you can’t join me live on TikTok live (see bio for current scedule) for sound support while you work on this question , you can find my recordings on YouTube. It’s a gentle place to rest, relax, and enjoy sound healing whenever you need.
