You’re Changing. Have You Noticed?

You’re Changing. Have You Noticed?

A Season of Change

I can feel September before fall officially arrives here in Illinois.

There’s a slight chill in the air that wasn’t there before. The heat begins to loosen its grip. The light looks different at 5 pm.

However, September started off in the 100s. It was like that first week wanted to make up for the many days of rain we’ve experienced in August.

I loved it. I got to dance at a house music event and head to another dance-gathering the next day with some cool folks. I had a time. Dancing for me is the time when I can release all of my stress at maximum force, while pretending to dance on music notes in the sky. Dramatic and theatrical I am.

On the other hand, there is only so much heat I can take. I think I love experiencing more cool days than not.

Maybe it’s because I was born in spring, but I’ve always loved the feeling of one season becoming another.

Lately, though, I’ve been thinking about how much nature can teach us about our own lives and personal growth during different seasons.

Nature doesn’t stay in one season, and neither do we.

Sometimes we’re full of energy and ready to build something new. Other times, we need to pull inward and listen to ourselves.

Then there are seasons when we finally get to look at what has grown in our lives.

I think we sometimes miss that part.

We become so focused on what still needs work that we forget to notice what has already changed. Maybe you respond differently now, or maybe you’re learning to trust yourself.

Maybe... something that once consumed your whole day no longer has the same power over you. And kudos to you for that!

That is growth too; embracing both progress and release can help you feel more patient and accepting of your journey.

So September isn’t only about asking, What’s next?

I’m currently asking myself:

What season am I in right now?

What do I need more of?

What has already grown in me?

Reflecting on this can help you feel proud and grateful for your progress so far.

September’s Affirmation

I honor the season I am in and trust what it is teaching me.

You don’t have to bloom all year. You don’t have to rush because someone else’s life appears to be moving faster. Please take your time.

Pay attention to your own season. As my mother always says, “Drunk or sober, mind your business”!

There may be something asking to grow.

There may be something ready to fall away.

And there may be something beautiful that has already grown that you haven’t stopped long enough to notice. Let’s call in being present more often, shall we?

Whatever season you’re in, meet yourself there.

Join Me Live

If these questions are resonating with you, I invite you to join me when I go live on TikTok. I’ll be sharing sound healing sessions designed to help you slow down, quiet the outside noise, and create space to listen inward.

Sound healing can support you as you reflect on what this season is asking of you. Through calming tones, vibration, and intentional rest, you may find it easier to connect with your intuition, notice what you’re feeling, and allow answers to arise without forcing them.

***I’ll be going live on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 8 pm Central.

If you’re not on TikTok, you can join me over on YouTube instead: https://www.youtube.com/@MyIslandOfSerenity

Bring your journal, your affirmation, and an open mind. You don’t have to arrive with all the answers. Sometimes, creating a little stillness is enough to help you hear what has been within you all along.

Here’s your Journal Prompt:

What does this season of my life need from me?

Feel free to reply to this and tell me what season you are in.

Blessings

Vee
